TINKUY de TEJEDORES: A Gathering of Weavers
The Sacred Valley, Peru
Nov. 5-8, 2010


Tinkuy de Tejedores ("tinkuy" means "gathering" in Quechua, the native language of the Peruvian highlands) will occur in the Sacred Valley near Cusco on November 5–8, 2010. This event, focusing on weavers and their cultural traditions, is organized by The Center of Traditional Textiles of Cusco (CTTC) with the support of Andean Textile Arts.

 

Tinkuy de Tejedores includes:

  • Presentations by indigenous weavers from the Americas
  • Illustrated talks on Andean textiles by noted scholars
  • Hands-on workshops and informal gatherings
  • Post Conference Tour for a limited number of North American attendees

     

    Travel Packages with various options are available.
